This interactive one-day training from Dorothy House provides a safe, confidential space to explore grief & bereavement, understand key theories, & learn how individuals & families cope with an incurable diagnosis & loss. You’ll gain confidence in having conversations about death & dying, supporting people through bereavement, & looking after your own wellbeing.
Course Leader Information:
Anne Montague is an Education and Professional Development Lead with the Education and Research Department at Dorothy House Hospice. She has worked for the hospice for more than 12 years and was previously the Psychological Support Lead in the Family Support Team which comprises counsellors, bereavement specialists, children and young people’s counsellors, creative therapists, palliative care social workers and the spiritual team. Prior to this Anne worked as clinical manager for the Frome based cancer counselling charity We Hear You. Anne is passionate about psychological support in palliative care and has more than 25 years experience working as a counsellor with individuals, couples and groups, largely focussing on cancer, life limiting illness and bereavement.
Alongside her therapeutic work Anne also worked for more than 30 years as a journalist and editor, working for national newspapers, consumer magazines and publishers, winning a number of national awards for her health writing.
