Course Information:

As our world becomes increasingly chaotic and disturbing, what is your heart longing for this Christmas? Advent is a time when we cry out to God to come to our aid, to comfort us, to walk alongside us on our journey through the darkness and to lead us into light and truth. For centuries the Church has expressed these deepest longings of the human heart through the O Antiphons – beautiful poetic prayers that are sung at Vespers in the week before Christmas. You may know them in the form of the popular Advent hymn O Come, O Come Emmanuel.

With the help of a variety of labyrinths, music, poetry and candlelight, we will be journeying with the O Antiphons and reflecting on their meaning for us today.

Course Leader:

This retreat will be led by Nickie Fidgin. Nickie is a qualified labyrinth facilitator and has been leading retreats and quiet days for many years. She has offered labyrinth walks in a variety of settings including cathedrals, churches, village halls, parks and beaches. In 2015 Nickie set up the Peaceful Path Project to introduce schools to the labyrinth as a tool for exploring spirituality and wellbeing.
