Jane Austen’s final published novel recounts Anne Elliot’s sad history of heartache and missed opportunities.  Yet all is not lost.  Discover how the heroine finds her voice, recovers her bloom and regains her man.

In this in-depth study, we will consider the issues of romance and constancy, silence and eloquence, submission and anger, heartache and hope, against the background of British naval supremacy in the early years of the 19^th Century.
