Private guests are welcome to use the facilities of the Centre for their own time of rest and refreshment.
If you are feeling stressed or simply in need of a break from the daily routine at a reasonable price, then you won’t find much better than Ammerdown! The gardens and surroundings are beautiful, there are plenty of local easy walks and places of interest, our home-cooking is renowned, and the amazing atmosphere of peace and tranquillity generated by this place is guaranteed to work its magic on you. Above all, we will do all we can to make your stay an enjoyable and hassle-free one.
Practical Information
Private Guests have access to all communal spaces within the Centre, which include the bar/lounge, the dining room, the library, the TV room (with internet access) and the Chapel. Guests are welcome to wander through the beautiful landscaped gardens of Ammerdown House, which were designed by famous gardener Edwin Lutyens. There is also a heated swimming pool in the Estate’s grounds, which guests have access to between 12.00 and 3.00 in the summer by kind courtesy of the owners.
Accommodation
Rooms and meals can be booked for a day or for longer, subject to availability.
Accommodation can be in the Centre itself or in one of the adjacent cottages (Peace Cottage and Dovecote). All bedrooms are en-suite with toilet and shower. There are also two bathrooms available to guests.
There is one self-catering facility. We also have one en-suite family room (in the Dovecote), comprising two single beds and one double bed.
Facilities for Disabled People
We have three bedrooms and en-suite toilet and shower rooms that have been specially fitted for wheelchair users. All communal spaces are also easily accessible to wheelchairs, and there are two additional disabled toilets in the main Centre. One of the bedrooms is on the first floor, but is easily accessible via the lift.
Catering
Guests who do not self-cater can choose Bed and Breakfast only, Dinner Bed and Breakfast, or full board.
If notified in advance, our kitchen can cater for vegetarians and vegans. If notified in advance, the kitchen can also cater for dairy free and/or gluten free diets but a surcharge of £5 per day will apply in order to cover the extra costs. Unfortunately, the kitchen cannot cater for severe food allergies such as nuts or seafood.
