Landscape Painting with Wendy Trinder

This course will start at 9.30am on Monday and finishes at 5pm Friday. Accommodation can be booked on Sunday night at an additional cost.*

We feel very privileged that artist Wendy Trinder has agreed to run art classes at Ammerdown this year. Wendy exhibits annually in London as a member of the Society of Botanical Artists and the Society of Women Artists. Her paintings have also been exhibited in galleries all over England, and used as card designs and book illustrations.

Wendy shares her time between painting and teaching, and has taught many courses in figure drawing and landscape and flower painting in a variety of media. She is happy to have students on her courses who may consider themselves beginners, or more experienced painters who feel they need practice and encouragement.

The aim of this course will be to extend painting skills with a range of media, with an emphasis on composition and the effective use of colour and tone. Methods on offer will include painting in watercolour and acrylics as well as drawing in ink, pencil or colour pencil if you so wish.

Students will get continuous help and constructive criticism, alomgside short demonstrations.

Subjects for landscapes will be available from photographs but, if the weather is good, some painting may be done in Ammerdown’s beautiful gardens.

Wendy will be leading other art weeks at Ammerdown in 2013:

9 to 13 September: Flowers in the Landscape (suitable for all)
14 to 17 October: Landscape Painting (suitable for all)
