AUTUMNAL AMMERDOWN – Digital Photography

Monday 1 November to Friday 5 November

Residential: £369, Non-residential: £246

Please arrive by 5.30pm on Monday.  Course ends with lunch on Friday.

If you like the idea of a course aimed at helping you see, compose and take better photos with your digital camera, as well as having some concentrated time on a creative approach to photography, then this is the course for you! To make it even more special, the week has been timed so that (hopefully!) participants can take advantage of the sumptuous autumn colours in Ammerdown’s gardens, park and woods.

Led by expert tutor Bryan Webb, the course will be project-based and will combine outdoor photo shoots and indoor studio sessions as a basis for creative work that is tailored to the participants own interests. Focusing on good photographic working practices, the programme will also include demonstrations, group work, and tutorials aimed at collecting autumnal images and other photographic resources for the project based image editing work using PC (Windows) Notebooks. The aim is to take through at least one major piece of work to being print or AV-ready. Additionally, participants can expect to receive supporting step-by-step checklists along with some timely instruction and handouts. Depending upon weather conditions, some optional photo shoots will be available, such as autumnal sunrise/sunset.

This course would be an excellent follow on from the digital photography course on 21 to 25 June or, equally, suit those who have been using a digital camera for a little while and want to learn more about it ( see ourPre-Course Checklist ) if you want to make sure the course will suit your level).

Participants will need to bring their own digital camera with its instruction manual. A tripod is also essential. Owning a laptop is not necessary, as Bryan will make suitable laptops available, but if you own a laptop (PC Notebook - Windows) running Adobe Photoshop Elements 6, 7 or 8 please bring it with you.

A Pre-Course check-list detailing what you will need to bring and what you might like to bring will be sent with the booking confirmation.

A supplementary advice sheet providing full details about cameras, tripods, PC Notebooks (Windows) & the course software is available from Ammerdown.  Apple Mac users please contact the centre for more information..
