Zazenkai and Living Zen 2016

Zazenkai is a silent day of Zen practice which includes sitting meditation (zazen) interspersed with walking meditation (kinhin). In our meditation we will practise attentiveness to the breath which, together with the stillness of the body, helps free the mind from its ordinary mental activities and offers an insight into the oneness of life. This insight reveals to us our own human potential and calls us to use this in the service of others. It brings us to the present moment, clarifying and supporting our readiness to meet the ever-changing circumstances of daily life.

Zen is a gift which can deepen the contemplative experience for Christians and for those from any faith or tradition.

Ammerdown’s Zazenkai days are facilitated by Mark Scholefield, a longstanding Zen practitioner. They are a good introduction for those new to Zen practice as well as preparation for a sesshin – a longer Zen retreat.

For those interested in Zen practice, please note that Zazenkai will also be held on             3 December.

*Cost:

Zazenkai (Saturday only):  £45
