Re-awakening the Sacred

Join Dr Justine Huxley and Viviana Esse for a weekend that will reconnect us with the joy and magic of life and help bring a deeper sense of nourishment into every aspect of our lives.

Justine and Viviana say: “The present times hold both a need and an opportunity for all of us to examine and re-invent the way we live. What is needed is a momentous transition to a new way of being – to live with awareness of our ‘interbeing’ with each other and with the Earth.

An essential part of this transition is to reconnect with the dimension we call ‘Sacred’ and make it once again the foundation of society - but in a completely new way that goes beyond ideological or cultural differences and touches the essence of what it means to be human. This shift will enable our experience of life to come alive, for us to feel joy and magic, and to immerse ourselves in a new relationship with each other, with nature and with the inner invisible worlds.”

This new programme, developed by St Ethelburga’s Centre in London, offers a simple but profound journey into our deepest sense of meaning. Together we will create a lived experience of our interconnectedness with each other and with the natural world. We will also explore how this can be actively brought into every aspect of our daily lives – from how we spend, shop, cook and eat to how we can bring a sense of the sacred into our workplace and local community.

We will use a mix of:

Experiential exercises
Story-sharing and dialogue
Snippets of inspiring video material
Time in nature
Reading and reflecting on texts and poetry
Eating together
Simple co-created ritual, prayer and silence

Justine has been with St Ethelburga's for ten years and its Director since January 2014. She has a passion for bringing together people from different backgrounds and for reclaiming our lost connection to the inner worlds. She brings a wealth of experience in deep listening, facilitation and working with emergent processes.

Inspired to live a life that is more aligned to her soul, Viviana has been exploring for years how to bring together the inner and outer dimensions of the sacred in everyday life. She does that through ritual and prayer weaved into conscious breath-work and bodywork. She is currently training as a transpersonal psychotherapist and runs interfaith leadership programmes at St Ethelburga’s.

Led by: Justine Huxley and Viviana Esse
