Interfaith Dialogue Facilitation Skills

Friday 6 November to Sunday 8 November

Cost : £125 all inclusive

Please arrive by 6pm on Friday.  Course ends after lunch on Sunday.

This course, run in partnership with St Ethelburga’s Centre For Reconciliation and Peace (London) and faithnetsouthwest, is for people involved in, or interested in, interfaith facilitation and dialogue. It will be of benefit not only to those new to facilitation but also those who are already facilitating groups and want to improve their technique or explore a wider range of tools.

The course will be highly experiential and will offer an opportunity to engage with a range of practical tools and techniques which help to foster participative and productive group conversations. The emphasis is on interfaith dialogue but many of the dialogue tools work well for diverse groups of all kinds.

The course will be run by two people who, together, combine years of experience of developing and using tools for interfaith dialogue. They will use this experience to explore, with the help of the group:

Justine Huxley is the Interfaith Projects Co-ordinator for St Ethelburga – a unique meeting place in the heart of the City of London, with a particular focus on exploring religious difference. One of St Ethelburga’s aims is to develop practical, constructive approaches which enable people to explore the differences between the faith traditions in a way that enables them to share the space with others who think and believe differently. Justine’s role is to run a busy and innovative programme of inter-faith dialogue, discussion and debate, as well as a programme about meditation and the spirituality of peace-building.www.stethelburgas.org

Jonathan Marshall is from the Plymouth Centre for Faiths & Cultural Diversity and also faithnetsouthwest –which is a regional partnership that supports faith groups engaging in social or community activity in the South West. One of faithnetsouthwest’s key aims is to help faith groups and local and regional bodies reach a better understanding of one another, and work with each other.
