Hand Embroidery

Annette Bolton is a gifted Textile and Bead artist who loves to share her art with others (see www.annettebolton.co.uk). She first came to Ammerdown last year and impressed everyone – pupils as well as casual observers – with the stunning pieces of artwork she helped create during her workshops. No wonder she already has a number of devoted followers!

This course, suitable for all abilities, will cover a wide variety of hand embroidery stitches and techniques to produce an attractive piece of embroidery.

You will be welcome to bring your own ideas and designs, which Annette will be very happy to help you with. If, however, you do not have a particular project in mind, Annette suggests that you might like to make a sewing companion which can hold your sewing equipment, threads, projects etc. She says that sewing companions are very practical and can include a small needlebook, pincushion and pockets - all beautifully decorated with embroidery and applique and embellished with buttons, beads and sequins.

Annette will have designs to choose from but stresses that everyone should feel free to bring their own design if they wish.

N.B.  Please note that Annette will be leading another course at Ammerdown this year, this time on Beading, from Monday 20 to Thursday 23 October.

Led by: Annette Bolton

Please arrive by 6pm on Tuesday. Course ends with lunch on Friday.
