Improving Your Digital Photographs Using Editing Software led by Bryan Webb

Friday 19 February to Sunday 21 February

Cost: Residential: £195.00  Non-Residential: £130.00

Please arrive before 5.30pm on Friday. Course finishes with afternoon tea on Sunday.

If you enjoy taking digital photographs, this course could be just what you need to improve your images. It is designed for those who use a PC but are either new to image editing software or want to get more use out of Adobe Photoshop Elements. (Apple Mac Users, please contact the centre)

Skill acquisition will start with using the software to download, catalogue and organise images. Practical work involving simple cropping, editing tools and various other techniques will aim at giving your images more visual impact. You will also learn how to set up images correctly prior to printing, e-mail or slide show production. You will have the opportunity to delve into the software further to cover more advanced editing skills and features such as slideshow creation, photo-books, montage and sending photos via e-mail. Backing up your photo-collection will also be covered.

Above all, the course will be aimed at helping you build confidence to use and explore the software on your own. Demonstrations, handouts and step-by-step checklists will support your learning. There will also be opportunities for critical evaluation.

Please note that you do not need to own any software or have your own computer to take part in this course. However, some basic computer skills are required, such as the confident use of a mouse. If you would like to check that you have the necessary skills, please ask to see our Pre-Course Checklist.

An advice sheet will be sent at the time of booking, informing you of what will be made available to you and what you might like to bring.
